TV SHOWS AND MOVIES

here are some of my favorite tv shows! (listed alphabetically).

THE CURSE (2023-present?)

this. is difficult to get through. but the season 1 finale was one of the most exciting and scary things i've ever seen. if you're a fan of nathan fielder's other stuff, then I would definitely recommend this one!
FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS (2007-2009)

I've watched this one too much so it's just required to be on this list. it is a part of me now. I don't know if this is considered a popular show but if you haven't seen it please do. it can become a part of you too.
THE GET DOWN (2016)

gone too soon :( the get down only had one season but it is so fun. um be warned that it is a musical.
HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON (2020-2023)

this show is so so wonderful in a very quiet way, I just think that it's so great. "how to watch the game" is one of my favorite episodes of anything ever.
M*A*S*H (1972-1983)

yay!!!!!!!!!!!
MR. ROBOT (2015-2019)

love my pretentious tv show. seasons 1-3 very good, astounding, beautiful visuals and storytelling. and season 4 also exists!
THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES (2019-2025)

yay another show about a dysfunctional rich family! but this time they are leaders of a megachurch. every single character is my favorite one.
misbehavin you will always be famous.

favorite movies :) (please let the record show that I have abysmal taste in movies). listed alphabetically.

CLUE (1985)

tim curry everybody, give it up for tim curry! everyone does a great job in this. I don't have a lot to say about it. it's just very good at being a fun time.
EIGHTH GRADE (2018)

movies that make you throw up.
I actually don't know what I think of this one. it came to mind when started making this list, but I think that's because it scares me. the thought of watching it again makes me nervous, but I'm also glad that I've seen it.
A HARD DAY'S NIGHT (1964)

*G7sus4 plays*
you guys have to check out this band they're called the beatles. I just think this movie is so charming. the first time I saw this was probably by watching it in extremely blurry 10-minute installments on my ipod touch :) it's a fun time!
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (2001)

ladies and gentlemen... whether you like it or not.. hedwig!
I became extremely obsessed with hedwig and the angry inch in college. I watched every version of the stageshow that I could find, got very into aristophanes and the whole origin of love, I was in it. the movie is a pretty good representation of the show though! the songs are still great, john cameron mitchell is great, it's just very good. (that being said - if you ever feel the need to watch a blurry uncaptioned recording of this show, the 1998 off-broadway version is my real recommendation here).
HOT ROD (2007)

this is maybe the movie I've seen the most times in my life. unfortunately. once for my friend's birthday I wrote out the transcript of the movie and made it into a physical book for her. it was so much fun. I can't be mad at this movie, it's too dumb.
I SAW THE TV GLOW (2024)

the most recent release on this list! I considered not adding it for that reason, but I do think about this movie often enough that it seems like it belongs. after finishing it for the first time I thought 'hm. not sure what I think about that. maybe a bit underwhelmed.' and then I continued to think about it for the next week. there is still time btw.
NOPE (2022)

I could not remember the name of this for the life of me. searched "up" and was like why is this little pixar boy coming up. anyway one of my favorite recent horror movies! I'm still so impressed by the design of jean jacket. I haven't seen it in a while, but even just thinking about it again makes me feel so excited. it feels like such a movie. thank you mr peele.
PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE (2019)

oh I love this one. I first saw it while I was in art school, and seeing a film consider what it means to view, and to be viewed, was so fascinating. also love how they showed the process of painting. and then you get into the whole orpheus/eurydice stuff and WOW what a good movie. I haven't seen it in a while, but writing this makes me want to rewatch it very badly. maybe I will do that.
WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY (2007)

oooooooooohhh this movie. this movie is so good and I don't hear nearly enough people talking about it. I don't understand how they continued making biopics after this came out (as a warning, this movie will ruin every single biopic that you watch after it. bohemian rhapsody. the elvis one. all of them). tim meadows is very good. all the songs are surprisingly solid. dewey cox died two minutes after this review was posted.
